My pastor is similarly hilarious. He actually printed in weekly notes a reference to the old Will Ferrell "I Drive a Dodge Stratus!" sketch as an analogy to Paul's credentials as a good Jew in Philippians. It made me LOL in church. What an obscure reference.

I once had a Jesuit (they have a sense of humour but are not known for it) ask me if I’d heard of the dyslexic-agnostic-insomniac, who sat up all night wondering if there really was a dog. Not THAT funny, but in the in the context of hardcore Catholic educators, some welcome levity. (I was raised humourless Presbyterian, but they don’t run prep schools.)
